Many programs for the operation of canals that deliver water to the agricultural community involve the mechanization of canal gates. Gate jacks provide a method of raising and lowering canal gates using electric motors driven instead of human power operated. A general-purpose “NOSEN” motorized screw jack for sluice gate, is popular on the world water power projects.
Common to most sluice gate jack are the following elements:
1. Screw jack attached directly to the sluice gate.
2. Single jack system, two jacks system, three jacks system…… are available.
3. Inverted type jacks, translating screw(self lock), clevis end type
4. Reduction gear mechanisms used to control the speed of the gate and to provide a mechanical advantage to overcome the forces involved in lifting the gate. Usually, we supply gear reducer connects with jacks by coupling, approximate lifting speed 100 mm/min ~ 300 mm/min.
5. Limited switches to stop the motor once the gate has reached the upper or lower limit of travel.
6. Brake motor, hand wheel, stainless steel screw, rubber bellows, steel covers, coupling and drive shafts are available.
7. Notice, travel stroke should be reduce mounting frame thickness.
8. Considering dynamic load includes gate self weight,rubber friction force and water flow force etc.
For sluice gate jacks, NOSEN screw jack RN-Series, RNF-Series are available.
RN-Series, max static load 100 tons each, max dynamic load 26 tons each.
RNF-Series, max load capacities 50 tons each.
