Our corporation, established in December 1988 as the Sanmao Group, is a key enterprise in the Chinese wool spinning and weaving industry. We are the only company in this field with advanced technology certified by both the National Scientific and Technical Department and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
We now have 10,000 employees and fixed assets worth USD400,000,000, with facilities covering an area of 300,000 square meters. Meanwhile, we have expanded our business scope by acquiring a joint-stock company and a five-star hotel. With a yearly output capacity reaching 2,000,000 suits and 15,000,000 meters of worsted fabrics, 10% of all products are being exported.
In order to achieve sustainable growth, we are focusing on upgrading our technologies and improving product quality. From 1997 to 2001 we have continually introduced the latest production equipments, including advanced lines from Germany, Italy, Switzerland and France. We passed evaluation for ISO9002 quality system and ISO14001 environmental management system certifications in 1998 and 2000 respectively. Moreover, CIS and CIMS programs have been implemented to ensure our transformation into a modern tech-oriented enterprise. Now we are making great efforts to create a green "Silicon Valley of Chinese wool spinning trade".
